From its origins as a mail order business specialising in formal shirts in 1986, Charles Tyrwhitt has evolved to become an international specialist multi-channel brand.
After building a successful relationship with the Rakuten Affiliate Network in the US, Charles Tyrwhitt launched with the UK as a secondary network. After a successful start to the programme, they took the decision to work with the network exclusively.
Charles Tyrwhitt required a detailed analysis of the UK marketplace to identify new and repeat customers for the brand. This enabled the brand to reach out to new and existing customers whilst maintaining Charles Tyrwhitt’s reputation.

During sale periods and key calendar dates we maximise revenue and creatively promote the brand.
In due course, Charles Tyrwhitt felt that the network's careful targeting of publisher partners and consideration of potential new audiences meant that a second network was no longer necessary, and chose to close the original network.
The Rakuten Affiliate Network executed a problem-free migration of all key publishers to the UK network, and therefore, Charles Tyrwhitt has seen steady growth in both existing and new partners. The use of the channel to recruit new customers has seen substantial results year on year, at a lower cost – which is music to the ears of the ecommerce and online marketing teams!
From 2012-2013, sales made through the Charles Tyrwhitt affiliate programme increased by an impressive 20% YoY. In the same timeframe, orders have grown by 13%, and click through rates have expanded by 54%.
