Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Business Development Executive

Position Summary

The Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Business Development Executive will be responsible for selling paid search and product-listing ad (PLA) management services to mid and large sized retailers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Cold call, prospect, build relationships and close new accounts
  • Uncover the needs of each client’s business to develop and deliver client presentations and proposals that focus on campaign performance, strategies for growth, and solving pain points
  • Work cross functionally within Rakuten Marketing to leverage existing relationships and maximize sales efforts for the company
  • Continuously study industry trends and client competitors
  • Attend industry trade shows to meet with paid search prospects

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of sales experience
  • Solid proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint for client-facing reports and presentations
  • Strong desire and ability to think creatively, solve problems and use professional judgment
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations
  • Must be results driven, enjoy problem solving and passionate about being challenged
  • Bachelor’s degree required.  Preferably a focus on advertising or marketing
  • Strong knowledge of Google, Yahoo, and MSN paid search programs
  • Understanding of Product Listing Ads (PLAs) is a plus but not required.
